Job Details
AECOM is seeking a Solar Engineer to join the Renewables and Microgrid Team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or from various Energy offices across the United States.
- Responsibilities include solar PV electrical engineering design, developing design schedules and budgets, and supporting business development activities.
- Monitoring project progress to ensure quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
- Designing solar PV systems, including array layouts and utility interconnections.
- Developing solar construction and equipment specifications.
- Performing engineering calculations and supporting drawing production.
- Participating in client meetings and occasional site travel.
- Serving as Engineer of Record on solar PV projects and providing technical expertise.
- Performing quality control reviews and participating in technical proposal development.
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years of relevant experience in electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems.
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- PE license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope.
- MV AC Collection System Design Experience
- Proficiency with NEC, IBC, and NFPA 855.
- Familiarity with utility practices and industry codes (NESC, IEEE, PIP).
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects.
