Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible as part of a team for daily management of the SQL Estate, ensuring service availability for all SQL Services, fully operational Failover Clusters, and Availability.
Responsible for Database backups and restorations adhering to contractual requirements.
Adheres to policies, standards, procedures, and rules to administer the database environment.
Manages SQL Monitoring, DB Performance, and Stability to minimize database downtime.
Builds SQL Servers and Services according to end-user needs.
Tests and administers database security and recovery procedures.
Liaises directly with the customer to resolve issues promptly.
Undertakes additional duties as required by changing circumstances, without significantly altering the responsibilities of the position.

Skills and qualities required:
- Strong SQL Server knowledge for administration and troubleshooting in enterprise environments (SQL Server 2008 and above).
- Expert skills in stored procedures, replication, and query tuning.
- Experience leading projects with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and resources simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable communicating with upper management, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to thrive in a complex, competitive, and constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships quickly with relevant business functions and key stakeholders.
- Good understanding of Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server 2008 and above).
- Proficient in backup technologies.
- Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management.
- Basic understanding of networking (routing, firewall dependencies).
