Full-Time SQL/BI Developer

The SQL/BI Developer will be part of the IT Team in Pune. The developer will have to work on IT Projects using various technologies in MS SQL Server versions 2014 and 2018. 

You will contribute to efficient DB development using but not limited to SQL, Stored Procedures, SSIS packages, SSRS, provide resolution of production issues by diagnosing bugs, performing urgent code changes, writing SQL data scripts to modify the system. In addition, you’ll be implementing new features and enhancements requested from CES clients. Critical thinking and a problem-solving attitude will be critical to your success in the role of Database Developer.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Experience using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), 
• Performance tuning of SQL, stored procedures, functions, SSIS packages, triggers, and views using T-SQL 
• Understanding of database schema design, query optimization and SQL Server troubleshooting
• Good experience in working on SSIS changes to apply break-fixes.
• Experience in creating and scheduling jobs, SQL Mail, Alerts, and scheduling SSIS Packages using SQL Server Agent.
• Designing, developing, unit testing, documenting, and troubleshooting reports and software for ETL in a complex data ecosystem
• Designing, developing, unit testing, documenting, and troubleshooting software for web-based products in a complex data ecosystem
• Creating and managing queries, procedures, functions, and other relational database artefacts
• Providing daily operational/production support in projects.
• Communicating with team members to ensure successful deployment of software
• Working in an agile team to deliver new functionality on a regular cadence
• Working closely with other members of the development team to collaboratively build software
• Working with product owner, business users, and IT leadership to ensure software design and execution aligns with tactical and strategic goals.
• Working closely with quality assurance engineers to assist in testing and data validation.
• 4+ years of Industry experience as DB developer in MS SQL Server supporting with Degree in Computer Science
• Proficient in fielding requests for production support and debugging.
• Relevant work experience as a developer in a custom software development environment building both transactional and analytical systems.
• Multiple years of database development experience working with transactional data models
• Multiple years writing advanced SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server (Transact-SQL)
• Multiple years building ETL integrations using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Experience developing reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter and capable of working successfully in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience as part of a team executing agile and/or waterfall projects.
• Ability to think “outside the box” by developing and implementing improvements to processes and tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience is SSAS
• Experience in Power BI
• Experience in performing business analysis activities within electrical energy industry, one or more US electric power markets. 
• Experience with Atlassian SDLC tools, particularly Jira
• Experience with source control.
• Proficient with MS SQL Server 2012 or later databases
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, or related field
• Multiple years of experience with design and development of client-facing applications
