The Data and Analytics Team (D&A) at NBCUniversal is looking for a passionate cloud data expert to participate in NBCU's D&A journey to the cloud. Reporting to the AI Governance Engineering Manager, the role will help drive product usability and innovation within the Data Analytics space.
The D&A team is focused on data and analytics strategies for the future. We support NBCU's vast portfolio of brands.
Responsibilities:
- Build Cloud Tagging frameworks, and work with engineering teams on implementing & monitoring them
- Develop a robust program for D&A Cloud management frameworks (monitoring, alerting, governance model, budgets, change management, cost optimization, show-backs, charge-backs)
- Work on Cloud Usage reporting to measure cloud cost-related insights, metrics, and KPIs
- Develop automation solutions for Cloud usage using AWS, Python, Databricks
- Work on Snowflake optimizations at a warehouse, database level
- Coordinate cloud issue resolution with Operation teams
- Setup and monitor data shares, snowpipes for Snowflake projects
- Communicate with leadership on Cloud usage trends, issues, and optimization techniques
- Collaborate with the D&A team on Cloud IAM & Role Management
- Write complex SQL to analyze and troubleshoot data anomalies
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity to adhere to NBCU security guidelines
- Coordinate AWS Networking, IP Whitelisting
- Participate in forecasting process; build and improve forecasts and explore trends in cloud spend
- Develop Cloud Governance policies, standards, and documentation
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience, with 1+ year in Snowflake Cloud environment
- Experience with Snowflake and cloud-based databases on IAM & Role Management
- Experience in Snowflake Data Sharing, Cloning, Data Exchange, DR replication
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, and Python
- Experience with GIT development, deployment, and support of data processes and procedures
- Detailed understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, and Snowflake resources
- Experience with Linux & Windows environments
- Proven experience in Cloud operational monitoring and administration
- Experience with high-volume data processing using Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks
- Experience with BI tools
- Familiarity with cataloging and data governance
- Experience in partnering with Engineering and Product teams on cloud optimization, costs, and their impact on the company’s bottom line
- Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working cross-functionally to roll out and manage large initiatives
- Advanced SQL, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Prior work experience in media
- AWS Solution Architect or Snowpro Core certification (plus)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and customer service skills
