Job Summary
Provides support for NBCUniversal's virtualized production infrastructure and applications. Supports live programming for NBCU Local, MSNBC, CNBC, TODAY, Nightly News, Dateline, Telemundo, and other NBCU shows and networks.
Responsibilities
- Support live production operations.
- Respond to and resolve reported issues.
- Communicate and escalate issues to L3 support & engineering managers.
- Validate software deployments, identify bugs, and workflow gaps.
- Identify and resolve documentation gaps, create SOPs, and train others.
- Monitor incoming user issues and provide application support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define support SOPs and create documentation.
- Perform routine system updates, security patching, and maintenance.
- Provide on-call 24/7/365 coverage.
- Coordinate maintenance and build activities around production schedules.
- Participate in Scrums, demos, and Agile ceremonies.
- Support on-prem & cloud (AWS) environments.
- Respond to and resolve application, infrastructure, and service monitoring alerts.
- Own outage response, management, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Establish subject matter expertise for all applications and workflows.
- Implement metrics to measure accomplishments and monitor progress.
- Contribute to process improvement ideas.
Basic Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting large-scale applications.
- Proficient in agile, Github, and ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
- Experience troubleshooting various applications and operating systems.
- Experience with software development teams in a Continuous Delivery environment.
- Knowledge of enterprise technologies.
- Ability to review and interpret application logs.
- Basic knowledge of AWS services.
- Knowledge of various broadcast equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automation and IT systems.
- Well-versed in broadcast operations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
