Full-Time Sr Production & Tech Support Engineer

Job Summary: As a member of NBCUniversal's Production Software Engineering (PSE) team, this Senior Production & Technology Support Engineer will provide support for NBCUniversal's virtualized production infrastructure and critical on-air applications. The role will handle L1-L3 support for 24x7x365 applications used across various NBCU locations.

Responsibilities:

• Support live programming for NBCU networks (NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, etc.)
• Resolve user issues using best practices
• Escalate issues to engineering managers
• Validate software deployments and identify bugs
• Create & update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Monitor incoming user issues and provide application support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams & vendors
• Perform system updates & security patching
• Provide 24/7/365 on-call coverage
• Own outage response and root cause analysis
• Implement metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot audio, video, and technical issues
• Optimize workflows related to broadcast systems

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience supporting mission-critical applications
• Proficient in agile, Git, and ITSM tools (like ServiceNow)
• Experience troubleshooting various applications & operating systems
• Knowledge of enterprise technologies and AWS services
• Knowledge of NoSQL data stores (a plus)
• Knowledge of broadcasting equipment (switchers, routers, etc.)
• Strong automation & IT systems knowledge
• Familiarity with AWS services (a plus)
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to travel (as needed)
