About the Role: As a Staff Editor for How Everything Works, you'll lead editing and feature writing. Collaborating with in-house and freelance writers, ensure content is clear, accurate, and engaging. Your responsibilities include editing content, commissioning stories, overseeing How Everything Works content production, building the content in our CMS, and working with the Campaign team on email scheduling.
Accountabilities:
- Editorial Planning: Create and schedule a monthly editorial calendar for email and web content.
- Editing: Maintain high editorial standards for clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
- Content Management: Prepare content for publication, building in CMS and ensuring proper formatting.
- Email-First Strategy: Collaborate with the Campaign team to schedule content sending via Airtable.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze key metrics (open rates, CTR, session duration) for strategic content decisions.
- Brainstorming: Contribute to brainstorming sessions, pitching new ideas for Optimism's brands.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of digital media editorial experience.
- Generalist science knowledge, adaptable across verticals.
- Strong copy-editing and line-editing skills.
- Data analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Email content delivery expertise.
- CMS (preferably WordPress) familiarity.
- Multitasking and priority management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
