As a Strategic Account Quotations Specialist for the Westlund Division (div. of Emco Corporation), you will interact with national and strategic accounts, providing RFP/RFQ/RFI responses for Valve Projects, Major Projects, EPCMs, National Construction Accounts, and large MRO Opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret project requirements, creating competitive quotations, and submittal packages.
- Provide exceptional customer service to secure sales and meet/exceed gross profit targets.
- Negotiate with vendors for best pricing, delivery, and terms.
- Ensure optimal order fill rates and high customer satisfaction for project material.
- Interpret complex information (building plans) to determine customer requirements and offer profitable solutions.
- Create accurate and professional quotations from customer specifications/drawings using applicable software.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with vendors and customers; expedite orders when needed.
- Create pricing contracts based on accepted quotations.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve the process.
- Follow up with customers to ensure order fulfillment.
- Investigate customer/vendor problems; resolve pricing shortfalls and material returns.
- Support Profit Centre Teams as an expert on projects and product information.
- Communicate effectively with Profit Centre Teams and ensure customer order expectations are met.
- Communicate changes in customer business to Profit Centre Managers and Credit Departments that could cause credit risk.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education (Business, Engineering, or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in Pipe, Valve, and Fitting industry preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years in strategic account management or quotations.
- Proven track record in RFP/RFQ/RFI response preparation.
- Strong understanding of valve projects, major projects, and EPCM processes.
- Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and customers.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting building plans and technical specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience with industry-specific quotation/submittal package software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of national construction accounts and MRO opportunities.
- Experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with credit risk assessment.
