System Administrator

Position Summary

As a System Administrator in our North American Driver and Vehicle Solutions (DVIS) group, you will manage, maintain, and support systems underpinning driver information system solutions for US customers.

Responsibilities

• System Installation, Configuration and Virtualization: Install, configure, and virtualize server hardware. Install/configure operating systems, software, and network settings. Write deployment scripts for consistent hardware/platform deployment. Develop new solutions based on customer requirements.
• System Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, ensure IT service reliability/availability. Tune-up OS, deploy updates/patches. Modify scripts for security compliance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose/resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to system outages, perform necessary repairs.
• User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Provide technical support/training to users.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement/maintain backup solutions (RDBMS replication, recovery, failover). Develop/test disaster recovery plans.
• Network Management: Configure/maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls). Ensure network security, manage VPNs.
• Security Management: Monitor/enforce security policies. Conduct security audits/vulnerability assessments.
• Documentation: Document system configurations, procedures, and changes. Maintain IT asset/inventory records.
• Collaboration: Work with CBN and customer IT staff/departments for projects/initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding IT needs.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with CBN/customer IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field) or equivalent work experience
• Certifications (CISSP, LPIC, ITIL, VCP, MCSE, OCA/OCP 12c) are assets but not required
• Knowledge of: Active Directory, Virtualization, Basic IT Security principles (TLS, encryption), ITIL processes, IT auditing
• 5+ years of system administration experience

• Encryption: Bitlocker, LUKS
• Cloud: AWS/Azure
• Configuration/Orchestration: Puppet
• Tools: Git, OpenSSL, tcpdump, Wireshark, Sysinternals Suite, Atlassian Suite

Mandatory Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in the USA
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, verbal)
• Ability to work outside of standard business hours
• Ability to travel domestically/internationally (passport required) approx. 3-4 weeks/year
