Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file indirect tax returns (e.g., U.S. Sales and Use Tax, Canadian GST/QST/HST).
- Prepare and file direct tax returns (e.g., property tax, gross receipts tax).
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data for corporate income tax reporting.
- Research and interpret indirect tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation to support audits and compliance.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
- Contribute to tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities.
- Supports the tax team with various projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in tax compliance or accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
