Job Details

Arista APAC is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer in one of the major cities of China.

The ideal candidate excels at troubleshooting complex customer environments, ensuring effective communication in local languages. Strong analytical skills and triage abilities are crucial, alongside a proven aptitude for learning and teaching new features/products.

Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate with customers from Japan, adhering to local language needs.
  2. Collaborate with global Technical Solutions Engineers to expedite customer issue resolution.
  3. Respond to customer product inquiries via telephone and email.
  4. Resolve customer concerns during installation, operation, maintenance, product application, or compatibility issues. May involve replicating issues in a lab and collaborating with engineering staff.
  5. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, recommending corrective actions. May involve replicating issues in a lab and collaborating with engineering staff.
  6. Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development.
  7. Provide technical guidance to customers, partners, and advanced services.
  8. Participate in presales activities (demos, presentations, proofs of concept).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, presentation, writing)
  • Strong customer and interpersonal skills
  • Mandatory Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of Networking industry, products, and protocols
    • Networking architecture and protocol knowledge
    • Hardware and software troubleshooting experience
    • Routing and/or Switching domain expertise
    • Operating and troubleshooting knowledge in 3+ of the following areas:
      • Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, IPv6, Ethernet)
      • Switching technologies (L1/L2: Ethernet, VLAN/Trunking, QinQ, STP, RSTP, xPVSTP, MSTP)
      • Routing Protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, BGP)
      • Multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM)
      • MPLS, WAN protocols
      • First Hop Redundancy protocols
    • Network design and implementation
    • Network virtualization/Cloud computing
    • IPSEC VPNs
  • Desired Skills:
    • Linux proficiency
    • Scripting languages (Python, Perl, shell)
    • Troubleshooting tools (IXIA, tcpdump, Wireshark)
    • Network design knowledge
    • Virtualization platform knowledge
    • Understanding of attacks (DoS, portscan, worms, Trojans, spoofing)
    • Secure management (SSL, SSH)
