Full-Time Value Optimization Engineer - Electrical

The Value Optimization Engineer (VOE) plans, validates, and implements cost reduction ideas to meet Value Optimization Savings targets.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with engineers, suppliers, vehicle integration, purchasing, quality, finance, etc., for thorough evaluation, validation, and presentation of recommended ideas and business cases.
• Supports System Responsible/Design Responsible to summarize system/commodity level savings, including potential at vehicle level for electrical components.
• Generates and organizes ideas for system-level proposals.
• Partners with engineering and suppliers to schedule implementation of value optimization ideas.
• Adheres to product development principles and processes (functional objectives, DFMEA, DVP&R).
• Understands corporate and competitive products from a benchmarking, read-across, and best practice perspective.
• Reports to the Global VO Manager/Drivers and refers to the NA Coordinator for HVAC and Engine Systems requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred, Chemical acceptable)
• 3+ years of proven experience in an engineering team
• Proven project management experience
• Advanced English proficiency

Preferable:

• Experience with cross-functional teams (Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Finance)
• Cost savings experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
• Self-starter, highly motivated, and goal-oriented approach

Additional:

• Residency and legal authorization to work in Mexico required
