Project - the aim you'll have
As an Engineering Manager at Vita Mojo, your purpose is to foster the growth of our engineers, drive successful project delivery, cultivate a positive team culture, and ensure an enjoyable working environment.
Your mission entails leading and managing multiple teams of highly skilled engineers located in different countries, with the goal of delivering high-quality products to our clients and their customers. As the group continues to grow, you will play a crucial role in evolving our processes, overseeing delivery, and ensuring efficiency and timely completion.
In addition, you will serve as a line manager for a team of 8-12 engineers across two different teams. This responsibility involves conducting regular one-to-one meetings, facilitating performance reviews, and creating personal development plans to support the professional growth and advancement of your team members
Position - how you'll contribute

- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with engineers to establish strong working relationships, monitor well-being, and address any concerns.
- Monitor project progress and adjust sprint plans to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Tracking and reporting on team delivery progress to stakeholders, including senior management and product owners.
- Participating in regular scrum meetings to keep everyone on track and address any issues or obstacles that arise.
- Foster an open, diverse, and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance team productivity and efficiency through process improvements and technology implementation.
- Ensure effective team collaboration, high-quality software delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with the Talent team to attract, retain, and hire the best engineering talent.
Expectations - the experience you need
- A history of engineering experience with a proven track record of engineering management, successfully leading, mentoring, and inspiring team members to achieve their potential while supporting engineering objectives.
- Experience managing high-performing, geographically disparate technical teams, focusing on talent development, retention, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Expertise in project management, including agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and design.
- Strong understanding of QA, design, product, and development processes and the ability to facilitate effective collaboration.
- Overall, the ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in engineering management, with the ability to lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and collaborate effectively with other teams. They should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to foster an open, diverse, and inclusive work environment.
Additional skills - the edge you have
- Previous hands-on experience as a developer or QA engineer in the past.
- Familiarity with software deployment practices and methodologies, including DevOps and CI/CD.
- An understanding of modern software development tools and technologies, such as AWS, ReactJS and NodeJS.
