Bid Management Team manages all open procurement bids for NEC Software Solutions (NEC). This includes procurements through OJEU and Government Catalogues, and strategic proposals to existing clients.
A vacancy exists for an experienced Bid Manager to manage bids for the public sector business. Strategic markets include Local and Central Government, Housing, Criminal Justice and Public Safety, and Health, and our NEC Digital Studio teams.
Reporting to the Head of Bid Management and Frameworks, the Bid Manager will work closely with Account Managers and pre-sales teams to produce excellent quality bids.
This role is home-based and requires travel throughout the UK.
This role is demanding, involves tight timescales, and requires multitasking to ensure all bids are managed to a high standard. Additional working hours may be required.
Primary Objectives:
- Manage multiple concurrent bids, ensuring bid documents are consistent, compelling, compliant, and meet all legal, commercial, and technical requirements.
- Lead bid teams, developing win themes, analyzing competitive information, and articulating win themes in the bid.
- Coordinate bid reviews, ensuring comprehensive reviews at each stage.
- Identify and mitigate risk, creating and submitting a risk register to Senior Management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the bid process with account managers, identifying and forming bid teams, assigning responsibilities, and setting timescales.
- Ensure formal kick-off meetings with documented responsibilities and timescales, ensuring sales messages are understood.
- Lead win theme and shaping sessions, communicating throughout the NEC proposition.
- Progress chase bid inputs, escalating issues where needed.
- Improve the quality of written responses, ensuring appropriate sales messages and meeting all legal, commercial, and technical requirements.
- Arrange team reviews for major opportunities, ensuring timely and appropriate information production.
- Record bid status at all stages.
- Brief Bid Support Administrators, ensuring bid completeness, proper formatting, and inclusion of appendices.
- Monitor and assess the NEC Bid Process, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collate client/prospect feedback on bid quality, identifying strengths/weaknesses, and feeding information to the Head of Bid Management.
- Be an expert in the bid process, NEC offerings, strategy, internal processes, and procedures.
- Provide constructive feedback to junior team members.
- Contribute to high-quality Expressions of Interest and Pre-Tender Questionnaires.
- Contribute to a library of NEC corporate information by authoring reusable content for repeatable product/service sales.
