AECOM is seeking a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Civil Engineer to be based in Mid-Atlantic or Southeast Regions to join our growing BRT engineering practice. The position reports into the US East Transportation Business Line.
The role includes opportunities for business development, supporting the development of transportation planning studies, preliminary design, and final design of linear transit infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with AECOM team, project engineer, deputy, project manager, and/or technical task leader on projects.
- Coordinate and cooperate with team members.
- Perform specific and moderate portions of experienced engineers' assignments.
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments, including calculations and tests.
- Propose solutions to new problems using modified standard procedures or methods.
- Identify discrepancies in results.
- Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
- Perform tasks according to budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
- Independently complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with highway transportation projects located in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate
- Experience on engineering design projects for US transit agencies, highway agencies, and/or urban municipalities.
- Experience designing transit and transportation infrastructure
- Experience with design software (InRoads, Civil 3D, OpenRoads).
- Experience with business development and client relations.
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
