In this context, to expand our current team in our Amstelveen branch, we are looking for a:
Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager (NBDM) for small and medium-sized FMCG companies plays an important role in NIQ's growth strategy. The NBDM will focus on accelerating organic growth by generating sales opportunities with leads and prospects, and growing sales within its own customer portfolio. Support will be offered to colleagues on larger sales projects with a longer horizon when needed.
What is expected of you as a Business Development Manager:
- You are responsible for achieving your own sales target.
- You approach new customers through various channels and are responsible for growing the existing customer portfolio assigned to you.
- You set the right priorities for customer visits based on sales potential and build a sustainable external network.
- You lead the entire sales process, from the initial lead, making proposals, negotiating terms & prices, to closing the final contract.
- You collaborate with other NIQ departments during the sales process and in the preparation for the onboarding of your new clients.
- You identify opportunities for upselling by generating leads for the sale of additional services.
- You monitor the progress of your portfolio's sales against the target and take action where necessary.
- You develop account plans for the most important prospects and customers in your portfolio. Ensure all sales materials, including the demo of the software and tools, are used consistently.
- You initiate and participate in projects to successfully launch new product/market combinations.
What you bring to this role:
You are an energetic self-starter, curious, and passionate about sales, building relationships, and identifying and utilizing opportunities in the market. You enjoy contributing to the results of the entire New Business Team through your own goals.
Our new colleague:
- Has a good understanding of the dynamics of the NL FMCG business
- Ideally brings 5 years of work experience, preferably gained in market research and/or FMCG (Trade) Marketing & Category Management or Account management functions
- Is familiar with the use of retail measurement data
- Is skilled in creating interest by making solution-oriented proposals with high customer satisfaction as a result
- Easily contacts (potential) customers and is able to build and maintain their own network for assigned customers and prospects
- Has an eye for both short- and long-term results
- Possesses excellent communication skills
- Is fluent in Dutch and business English
- Has a healthy dose of humor
