Full-Time Category Manager, Labels - Direct Materials

Overview: This role reports to the Director of Pressure Sensitive Labels on the Direct Materials Procurement team. It is responsible for procurement activities supporting a large business segment. This role partners closely with stakeholders to understand priorities, develop/execute category strategies, reduce total cost of ownership, and ensure supply continuity. This involves understanding industry benchmarks, leveraging supplier innovation, and employing strong negotiation and sourcing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, communicate, and implement procurement strategies for the category.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand strategic direction and business priorities, and execute effective strategies to achieve business objectives.
• Achieve business requirements while capturing value (e.g., cost improvements, risk mitigation, supply continuity, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier management).
• Develop and sustain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
• Research, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure competitive advantages.
• Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using cost models and benchmarks.
• Maintain updated documentation, terms, etc. in systems.
• Conduct successful sourcing events, negotiations, and thorough market analysis.
• Negotiate supplier agreements with KPIs, SLAs, price protection, and continuous improvement efficiencies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Pressure Sensitive/Direct Thermal Industry.
• In-depth knowledge of label applications and specifications.
• RFID label experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in business management or supply chain.
• Strong ability to build strategic partnerships across internal teams and suppliers.
• Project management experience with high-volume throughput.
• Data analysis skills to identify strategic opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills to handle sensitive issues professionally.
• Proficiency in Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Occasional travel may be required.

Compensation: National pay range: $74,600 - $132,500 per year. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and skills.
