PayPay is a FinTech company with over 65M users (August 2024). We're looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer for PayPay's cloud-based payment system.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and build a robust, scalable, and stable cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure maintainability during patching and upgrades without downtime.
- Design infrastructure with AWS regional-level failure tolerance.
- Collaborate with security engineers on secure infrastructure provisioning.
- Automate AWS deployments for fast delivery of cloud services to developers.
- Provide automated means for developers to deploy resources on AWS.
Tech Stack: AWS (VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, CloudFront, MWAA, RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, S3, CloudWatch, Cognito, SQS, KMS, Secret Manager, MSK, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, and other services). Terraform, Github Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, Atlantis, ArgoCD, OpenTelemetry.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS computing, storage, and analytical services.
- Proficient in programming/scripting (Python, Shell Scripting, Go, Rust).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) tools in AWS (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
- Proficient in Linux internals and system administration.
- Experience in production-level infrastructure change management and releases.
- Experience in cloud infrastructure availability, performance, and cost management.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and payment industry compliance.
- Experience with cloud services monitoring, detection, and response.
- Good understanding of networks, especially on cloud platforms.
- Experience in AI/ML infrastructure design and operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
- Experience with other cloud providers (GCP, Azure).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka).
- Experience using/contributing to open-source tools.
- Experience in managing IT compliance and security risk.
- Relevant certifications.
- Bilingual (English/Japanese). JLPT Level 3+.
Compensation & Benefits: Annual salary in 12 installments (monthly), reviewed annually. Yearly incentives, late overtime allowance, social insurance, 401K, translation/interpretation support, VISA sponsorship + relocation.
