Full-Time Content Lead / Managing Editor (Latin America)

Key Responsibilities

• Editorial Leadership: Develop and implement the editorial strategy for sports betting content in Latin America, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging, and accurate sports betting articles, guides, and features.
• Team Management: Manage a team of in-house writers, editors, and external freelance contributors. Assign and review work, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met. Provide freelance writers with regular feedback and editing notes. Assist with recruitment, training, and management of freelance writers.
• Content Development: Identify trending topics and opportunities within the Brazilian sports market to create timely and relevant content. Monitor the sports calendar to develop timely and seasonal content that resonates with our audience. Collaborate with internal teams to craft unique and creative sports betting props, futures, and opinion pieces around trending topics. Collaborate with the social media team to amplify content reach and audience engagement. Review on-site sports content and update regularly.
• Market Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Brazilian sports market, including teams, leagues, and popular betting trends. Monitor regional sports betting regulations and trends to inform content strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: Use CMS platforms (with a strong preference for WordPress) to oversee content publishing and optimization. Implement SEO best practices to maximize organic reach and performance.

Skills and Experience

• Essential: 5+ years of experience writing for or managing content in top-tier sports publications.
• Proven track record of managing teams and external freelance contributors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Deep knowledge of sports betting and the Brazilian sports landscape.
• Proficiency with WordPress and other CMS platforms.
• Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese (mandatory) with a strong command of English.

Desired

• Strong social media presence with a recognizable brand in sports or sports betting.
• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
