The Role: At Sotheby's, we use data to improve business decisions. We seek an experienced Customer Data Platform (CDP) Lead to automate and optimize our unified data layer across consumer applications.
Responsibilities:
- Own data pipelines, Segment usage, and data funneling.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive tracking plan for events, properties, and user identifiers.
- Validate Segment data against the tracking plan and resolve discrepancies.
- Transform and enrich collected data using Segment features.
- Implement and configure Segment libraries across websites, mobile apps, and other platforms.
- Manage integrations between Segment and various tools (analytics, marketing, etc.).
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams on data needs.
- Develop actionable insights on customer behavior to guide business decisions.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data tracking.
- Monitor tracking implementation performance and identify areas for optimization.
- Gather requirements, conduct data analysis, build models and dashboards, and automate deployment of insights.
Ideal Experience & Competencies:
- Proven experience with Segment implementations in top organizations.
- Expert proficiency in Segment libraries, protocols, and APIs.
- Relevant degree (Data Science, Statistics, etc.) or 5+ years in data management, analytics, reporting.
- 5+ years in a B2C business.
- 3+ years as a data analyst or product analyst with Segment experience (strong product sense).
- Data warehousing experience (data modeling, Snowflake).
- Knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g., dbt) and SQL.
- Proficiency in modern analytics tools (Google Analytics, Amplitude, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present recommendations effectively.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
