Full-Time Data Science Manager

We seek a Data Science Manager to lead a team developing and deploying cutting-edge AI models, including LLMs, MLLMs, and NLP/NLU solutions. Your role involves driving AI innovation, fine-tuning strategies, ensuring scalability and governance, and collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams.

1. Leadership & Strategy: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing Data Scientists team. Define and execute the AI/ML strategy, aligning with business goals. Collaborate with stakeholders for AI-driven solutions.
2. AI/ML Research & Development: Architect and deploy conversational AI models, fine-tuning LLMs with techniques like LoRA. Develop multimodal AI models (MLLMs) integrating diverse data. Optimize NLP/NLU models for customer service/personalization. Optimize AI/ML pipelines for speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Design AI governance frameworks (model monitoring, bias mitigation, explainability).
3. Model Training & Fine-Tuning: Oversee data collection, annotation, and preparation. Implement state-of-the-art fine-tuning methods to enhance LLM performance. Leverage RAG and knowledge distillation to improve AI capabilities.
4. Scalability & ML Ops: Work with engineering to deploy models using scalable ML Ops practices. Optimize data pipelines (RDS, Elasticsearch, vector databases). Ensure continuous model monitoring, retraining, and performance optimization.
5. AI Governance & Security: Implement AI model governance, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies. Develop ethical AI frameworks for fairness, transparency, and security. Ensure PII masking and anonymization.

Requirements:

• 7+ years Data Science experience, focusing on NLP, Deep Learning, or LLMs
• 4+ years managing data science teams
• Strong Python programming skills and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Startup experience (mandatory)
• Expertise in LLMs, deep learning, NLP, and chatbot development
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, probability, and experimental design
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, RAG, LoRA, and transformer models
• Ability to rapidly understand and implement AI/NLP research
• ML Ops, model deployment, and optimization experience
• Strong communication skills for collaboration

Good-to-Have:

• Experience with large-scale data processing (Hadoop, Spark) and distributed computing
• Familiarity with vector databases, RDS, and Elasticsearch
• Knowledge of Multimodal AI, Speech Recognition, and NLG
• Background in AI security, model governance, and bias mitigation
