We’re looking for a Design Director. This role has four key focuses:
- Partner with Business Development & Project Managers to build and deliver creative pitches
- Lead overall design / brand / creative vision within your accounts
- Lead high-level creative projects
- Mentoring your team to support projects of all sizes and scopes
Responsibilities
- CLIENT PROJECTS (65%)
- Partner with Project Managers on project scoping and estimates on higher creative projects
- Support larger corporate accounts with fast-paced deadlines
- Lead kick-off calls, creative presentations and problem-solving meetings
- Brainstorm ideas live during client calls
- Identify projects needing strategic input
- Communicate project needs, timelines, team skills and availability
- Set up briefs, provide creative direction and inspiration
- Define workflow and scope of work
- Lead communication from brainstorm to final production
- Provide creative reviews and feedback
- Decide project assignments, building collaborative teams
- Drive design excellence
- ACCOUNTS, BRAND STRATEGY AND NEW BUSINESS (25%)
- Lead onboarding of new client accounts
- Review brand materials, setting up brand pages, ensuring seamless workflow integration
- Uncover client goals, building strong partnerships
- Build collaborative relationships with clients
- Understand client goals and how to support them creatively
- Master client brand guidelines and preferences
- Maintain and improve account-level design quality
- Train designers on brand updates
- Push brands’ creative boundaries
- Train and mentor Designers and Brand Managers
- Provide creative design and management input on new accounts
- Look for opportunities to expand services
- Suggest client benefits
- Develop and present proposals/pitches
- Support Business Development with concepts
- SKETCHDECK TEAM DEVELOPMENT (10%)
- Elevate design by making tools accessible, training on skills and providing inspiration
- Manage team talent and assist with recruiting
- Escalate issues and important opportunities
- Keep designers inspired
- Prove input and ideas to improve design team structure, processes, and development
- Lead SketchDeck internal projects
- Maintain effective communication across teams
