We are seeking an energetic engineer to join our quest to enhance, optimize, and maintain our automations—ensuring it is a game-changing investment both internally and externally.
We require an experienced engineer who has a knack for good, clean code and a desire to contribute to something great.
Our ideal candidate is ready to improve our existing framework while fixing bugs and developing enhancements, keeping an eye out for scalability and additional platform API integrations, and always keeping the end-user experience paramount.
Our DevSecOps Engineer will maintain a pulse on the SDLC, helping us to think one step ahead and ensuring our roadmap is aligned with the future.
Our Engineer will work closely alongside our dedicated DevSecOps Team and will interface with departmental leadership on future-minded enhancement proposals.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (Otherwise known as the fine print, the list of job tasks and responsibilities.)
Our DevSecOps Engineer employs deep knowledge of programming, scripting, and APIs to administer, maintain, and advance Entara’s internal and external automation tasks and development.
Daily development tasks span completing enhancements, resolving known defects, building and maintaining integrations, working on version upgrades, and performing monthly/quarterly maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Standup Participation: Actively engage in daily standup meetings.
- Issue Resolution: Diagnose problems, craft solutions, and execute repairs.
- Quality Assurance: Route freshly coded features for peer testing.
- Development: Develop and maintain integrations between third-party APIs.
- Automation Audits: Conduct regular checks of existing automations.
- Delivery Management: Uphold commitment to development timelines.
- Manage Deliverables: Prepare and complete deliverables for clients.
- Process Adaptation: Leverage Entara's fundamental processes.
- Enhance Incident Response Playbooks and Security Automation: Collaborate with Teams.
- Stay Informed: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current security threats.
- Optimize Orchestration: Develop and enhance orchestration strategies.
- Align Documentation Maintenance Standards: Stay in concert with leadership and architects.
- QA Practices: Apply established testing methodologies.
- Deliver Effective Communication: Adhere to communication protocols, offer timely communications.
- Change Summaries: Clearly articulate rationale and scope of modifications.
- Ideate Automation Enhancement Development Insight: Offer insights on development avenues.
- Collaborative Requirement Gathering: Work alongside stakeholders.
WHO YOU ARE: REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You ideally have an engineering, computer science, information technology, or system development degree.
You have at least two (2) years of experience developing software with Python, JavaScript.
- Completed in-depth, production-ready personal projects in Python
- 1+ year working within JavaScript Frameworks
- Understanding the ROI of automation
- Developed expertise working with RESTful APIs
- Experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
You have at least two (2) years of experience developing software for business use utilizing the following coding languages:
- HTML & CSS
- JavaScript (required)
- Python (required)
- PowerShell (bonus)
- Golang (bonus)
You have experience working with various business IT Infrastructure including OS Administration of Windows, Mac, and Linux. You have familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure such as Azure or AWS. You understand networking concepts and are familiar with firewalls, routers, and switches.
You are available for an 8-hour shift, generally performed between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CT Monday-Friday.
You are an effective remote worker with a dedicated, private home office and a private internet connection with at least 50MBPS bandwidth.
