Full-Time Director of Finance

Director of Finance

Oversee the financial operations of the organization, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and financial performance monitoring. Develop financial strategies and manage financial risks.

1. Manage bookkeeping, A/R, and A/P staff (in-house and outsourced).
2. Prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
3. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
4. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and sales/use tax reporting.
5. Maintain accounting functions in NetSuite.
6. Advise senior leadership on financial performance and strategies.
7. Establish and enforce internal controls.
8. Comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
9. Coordinate with external auditors.
10. Oversee cash flow management and working capital.
11. Lead, manage, and mentor accounting staff.
12. Collaborate with other departments.
13. Lead/participate in special projects (mergers, acquisitions, system upgrades).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance (Master's/CPA preferred).
• 5-7 years experience in accounting/financial management, 5+ years in leadership.
• 3+ years managing a financial function using Netsuite.
• Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Multi-store retail and B2B/wholesale experience.
• Strong analytical skills for reconciliations.
• Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
