Experian's Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) business is seeking a Director of Product to lead the expanding Insurance vertical. You'll define and deliver a holistic insurance experience, promoting personalized insurance capabilities across Experian's product ecosystem.
Reporting to the Vice President of Product, this remote role involves building transactional funnels and fostering ongoing user engagement, ensuring users feel informed, protected, and secure in their insurance decisions. You'll build a strategy integrating coverage fit, financial protection, and quote monitoring to maintain ongoing user value.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive product strategy for the insurance platform, encompassing quoting, purchase, carrier integrations, agency tools, and in-app insurance features.
- Lead a team of product managers, providing strategic guidance while understanding Experian's operating model.
- Design experiences engaging users beyond initial purchases, including tools for quote opportunities, risk/pricing changes, and coverage improvement alerts.
- Communicate strategic and technical topics to senior leadership, presenting roadmap trade-offs and impacts.
- Collaborate with marketing and lifecycle teams for go-to-market plans and incubation strategies to convert interest into long-term customer value.
- Serve as a strategic voice for insurance within the Marketplace team and broader product leadership team, shaping how protection insights are delivered throughout the user journey.
Required Background:
- 7+ years of product management experience, owning complex consumer platforms with measurable success in engagement and transactions growth.
- 3+ years experience in financial services, regulated marketplaces, and/or insurance (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field (preferred).
- Experience building solutions addressing user needs, operational workflows, and external partner integrations.
- Comfort navigating technical depth and communicating with executive leadership.
- Agile development experience with product delivery.
- Experience managing product managers, focused on building empowered, impactful, and strategically capable teams.
