Job Details

Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for driving business sales growth, increasing market share, and building long-term customer relationships. This senior leadership position combines strategic thinking, team leadership, and hands-on execution.

Roles, responsibilities and key functions:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with Edify's vision and objectives.
  2. Oversee and manage the performance, development, and alignment of marketing, sales, and customer relations representatives, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture.
  3. Identify market trends, opportunities, and threats within the software consulting industry.
  4. Lead market research to understand customer needs and define target markets.
  5. Collaborate with senior management to shape and implement overall business strategies.
  6. Lead the recruitment, hiring, and provision of appropriate training for the development of staff under their supervision.
  7. Supervise the sales team, set goals, provide mentorship, and ensure achievement of targets.
  8. Develop and execute sales plans, including B2B sales pipelines, key account management, and customer acquisition.
  9. Build and nurture relationships with Edify's ideal customer profile, identifying and closing high-value opportunities.
  10. Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to ensure profitable outcomes.
  11. Determine pricing strategy in collaboration with other departments.
  12. Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  13. Manage and nurture referral relationships and sales commissions.
  14. Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy, including brand management, market research, refining the value proposition, and implementing effective marketing campaigns.
  15. Build and manage the team, defining roles, responsibilities, and structure.
  16. Collaborate with the technical team to position the company’s services and solutions compellingly.
  17. Lead the development of marketing materials, including case studies, whitepapers, and presentations.
  18. Manage relationships with external agencies for website development, content creation, and advertising.
  19. Monitor and report on marketing performance metrics.
  20. Support senior management efforts to position Edify as a thought leader in the custom software development industry within the EdTech space.
  21. Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies to optimize revenue, adapt to market conditions, and enhance competitive positioning.
  22. Work closely with clients to understand their challenges and align solutions that meet their business needs.
  23. Implement strategies to improve customer engagement.
  24. Drive customer satisfaction through effective account management and customer service.
  25. Implement strategies to improve customer retention and encourage recurring business.
  26. Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to maximize individual and team potential.
  27. Foster a collaborative work environment between sales, marketing, and service teams.
  28. Drive training programs to enhance the sales and marketing skills of the team.
  29. Lead recruitment, hiring, and the provision of appropriate training for the development of sales, marketing, and customer relations staff.
  30. Oversee the sales and marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies.
  31. Track ROI on marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to improve returns.
  32. Manage financial forecasting related to sales revenue and marketing expenses.
  33. Stay up-to-date on trends and innovations in software consulting, incorporating them into sales and marketing strategies.
  34. Use CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and data analytics platforms to improve decision-making and reporting.
  35. Leverage emerging technologies to drive sales and marketing processes in innovative ways.
