Full-Time Director, Product Design

As the Director of Product Design, you will lead and grow a diverse team of Product Designers. You will apply design thinking principles to create engaging and personalized user experiences for our web and mobile apps.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Establish a vision for design at Smartsheet.
2. Define UX strategy and vision.
3. Set goals and metrics for design decisions.
4. Manage UX designers' daily and strategic activities.
5. Build, evolve, and scale UX processes, standards, and tools.
6. Mentor and coach UX designers on emerging UX techniques and tools.
7. Develop tailored career paths for team members.
8. Understand user needs and goals, communicating them to cross-functional teams.
9. Collaborate with product teams to launch and evolve features.
10. Translate business goals into innovative product experiences.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years experience in a highly cross-functional role.
• 6+ years leading and mentoring UX teams (manager of managers a plus).
• Experience leading a large team of designers (10+).
• Proven UX work contributing to business goals.
• Experience designing for enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Passion for UX.
• Strong visual design skills and sensibilities.
• Expert in Figma, Creative Cloud, or other visual design, wireframing, and prototyping tools.
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to advocate for the user.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
