Job Details
This position is responsible for the design, development, timing, and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems (filler pipes, fuel lines, tanks, canisters).
Responsibilities include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and efficiency improvements.
Communicating technical product status to management is also a key responsibility.
The Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and work closely with internal (testing, prototype labs, CAE engineers, vehicle program team, supplier operations, manufacturing plants) and external groups.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or equivalent).
- BSME preferred.
- >3 years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and/or UREA.
- Will consider internship with Fuel Systems (UREA also considered).
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
Beneficial Experience:
- Formula SAE, Baja, or similar college experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Extensive automotive experience.
- Product engineering experience.
- Prototype experience.
- Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) experience.
- Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) experience.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience.
- DFSS Belt certification.
- Solid understanding of system/component design.
- General understanding of NX, TeamCenter, and CoDeP.
Must:
- Reside in Mexico and legally authorized to work there.
