Field Service Technician position demands a highly collaborative and adaptable professional who contributes to information sharing and peer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to identify component failures.
- Develop expertise in multiple product lines (Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, Cargo Inspection Systems).
- Execute high-priority projects with excellence and attention to detail.
- Identify recurring issues and collaborate on problem-solving.
- Use business software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create reports.
- Troubleshoot, service, install, and repair equipment with precision and care.
- Maintain meticulous field service logs and filing systems.
- Exceed customer and company expectations with productive downtime and consistent service.
- Follow up with customers for complete satisfaction.
- Fulfill daily repair requirements, maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Perform equipment installations, repairs, and maintenance in the field, providing training.
- Document all work, submitting paperwork within timeframes.
- Manage repair parts cycle (ordering, installation, return) to minimize cycle times.
- Review logs for outstanding issues and prepare detailed reports for customers.
- Engage in Service Sales opportunities and revenue-generating programs.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment.
- Assess product and equipment performance based on field data, recommending modifications.
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
- Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, and meetings.
- Maintain and expand technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Cultivate professional relationships with senior engineers and product managers.
- Implement cost control measures.
- Demonstrate flexibility with travel, overtime, and non-standard hours.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Comply with CA export control and security regulations.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Associate's Degree, relevant Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical), or equivalent Military Training, or 1-3 years related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and specialized software.
- Minimum 1-3 years troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic systems/equipment.
Knowledge and Skills:

- Willingness to travel on short notice

- Occasional supervision of others on project basis
