Full-Time Financial Accountant (Fixed Term)

The purpose of a Financial Accountant is to manage and oversee Lex Medicus' financial accounts and transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial records
• Prepare financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile financial data
• Provide financial information and analysis for decision-making and strategic planning

Accounts Payable:

• Enter supplier invoices into Finance system
• Reconcile expert invoices
• Prepare and email Weekly Accounts Payable report
• Ensure timely supplier payments
• Attend and provide updates at meetings
• Maintain and update Finance SOPs
• Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card accounts

Accounts Receivable:

• Prepare and email Weekly Accounts Receivable report
• Check bank account for EFT payments
• Mark invoices as paid in Practice Manager and finance systems
• Process cheques daily and bank

Invoicing:

• Issue invoices from Practice Manager within 48 hours
• Upload invoices to Practice Manager
• Ensure invoices are billed correctly
• Send reminders for outstanding invoices (14+ days)
• Follow up outstanding invoices (30+ days)
• Maintain regular communication with top management

Reporting:

• Provide monthly financial reports to management
• Assist in managing expenses within budget
• Provide weekly reporting (or as requested)
• Provide month-end reports to MedHealth Group
• Prepare and update budget with projected forecast and financial insights

Leadership and Training:

• Provide training and coaching to direct reports
• Conduct performance reviews
• Maintain a positive working environment
• Assist in knowledge sharing at team meetings

Business Development:

• Participate in business development updates and training
• Promote Lex Medicus on social media
• Attend Lex Medicus seminars, functions, and training days
• Engage in business development communications with lawyers and clients
