What will the role involve?
You will be at the forefront of content production and innovation. Your main responsibility is creating high-quality gaming content (written & video) for a broad audience. You'll produce reviews, previews, and hands-on impressions of gaming software and hardware. This needs strong industry knowledge and engaging communication skills.
Your network is key to breaking exclusive stories. A proactive approach to networking and staying ahead of industry trends is needed.
Engaging our audience through innovative platforms (live streaming, podcasts, short-form/long-form video) is crucial.
Quality assurance is critical; every piece of content must be thoroughly researched and balanced. Adhering to the Editor's Code of Practice is essential.
Flexibility is required to cover other roles as needed.
Upholding Reach's policy on diversity and inclusion is paramount.
Who are we looking for?
Desirable: NCTJ or equivalent qualification.
Essential: Proven ability to tell engaging stories, passion for gaming, strong knowledge of current gaming trends, experience turning written work into high-quality video content, a sizeable contacts book, understanding of social video platforms, and a social media presence.
Specific genre/hardware expertise is preferable, experience with a gaming publication is a plus.
Proven track record for digital storytelling is also essential.
