The Customer Excellence Group at ServiceNow works with customers to help them achieve their business outcomes by providing prescriptive guidance. You will work with customers to drive consumption, adoption, and customer satisfaction, helping them grow their business on the ServiceNow platform.
The Role
The Principal Technical Consultant is a functional and technical expert consulting with customers and configuring ServiceNow Integrations. The goal is to accelerate and drive customer business outcomes.
Integrations consultants design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party software. They are expert problem solvers with extensive programming skills in multiple coding languages and frameworks. They resolve errors, provide support, and develop procedures for complex system overlaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (e.g., AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI insights).
- Developing platform development plans and strategies.
- Developing solutions specific to user requirements gathered in workshops.
- Coordinating with developers to ensure platform functionality supports the overall project.
- Implementing latest ServiceNow AI offerings (Virtual Agent, NLU, AI Search, etc.).
- Acting as an SME to solve complex user issues related to AI solutions.
- Checking and correcting conflicts in data configurations.
- Analyzing and improving instance configuration for future support.
- Identifying, debugging, and advising on system errors or architecture issues.
- Advisory services on design principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of configuration/development experience with complex integration technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons, and risks) in a complex customer environment.
- Maintaining 2 ServiceNow mainline CIS certifications.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- Technical lead experience.
- Experience with AI Models, Deep Learning Models, and Large Language Models (focus on Generative AI).
- Experience with ServiceNow's Predictive/Task Intelligence, AI Search, and Virtual Agent.
- Experience with complex reporting requirements.
- Experience with data management, database design, and concepts.
- Knowledge and experience with technical components like LDAP, VPN, SSL, SAML/SSO.
- Experience with chat, agent chat, and virtual agent configuration.
- Understanding of encryption design principles (Platform, Edge, Database, Full Disk).
- Experience working in Flow Designer with custom flows.
- Understanding and/or development experience with MID Servers, Notify, Orchestration.
- Strong Javascript skills.
- Experience with Self-Hosted implementations and/or Domain Separation (a plus).
- Experience with development on the ServiceNow platform (Studio IDE, Mobile, Automated Test Framework, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer-centric attitude.
- Proven team builder with mentoring experience.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to fix errors in complex code.
- Good presentation and report-writing skills.
- Up to 30% travel.
