GL Accountant

Responsibilities

• Recording financial transactions in accounting systems for multiple client companies.
• Posting customer payments and maintaining Accounts receivable aging reports.
• Recording vendor invoices, coding expenses to proper ledger accounts, obtaining payment authorization, and scheduling payments.
• Reconciling bank records to general ledger accounts.
• Processing online payroll and recording transactions.
• Filing sales and property taxes.
• Performing other accounting tasks as needed by clients.
• Accurately recording time spent on client engagements for budgeting and billing.

Requirements

• Located in Eastern or Central Standard Time Zones.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Working knowledge of accrual basis accounting and payroll requirements.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting automation tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, think critically, and solve problems.
• Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Enthusiastic, inquisitive, and desire to learn various topics.
• Creative mindset with the ability to suggest improvements.
