Full-Time Group Product Manager - Head of Institutional Risk Platform

Solving for this, the Institutional Risk Platform team operates a unified risk platform to effectively monitor, mitigate, and manage all forms of risk arising from Coinbase institutional leverage and credit products.

We are looking for an experienced financial markets and/or product professional to i) originate a new organization-wide dedicated first line of defence (1LOD) risk management function, and ii) lead the ongoing development of the institutional risk management product suite that powers our established and industry-leading 2nd-line (2LOD) Risk team.

You will:

• Be responsible for 1st line oversight of market and counterparty credit risk across spot and derivatives platforms for all Institutional products, effectively coordinating XFN partners in Risk, Operations, Trading, and Product to holistically mitigate, monitor, and manage risks to Coinbase.
• With your 2nd line Risk partners, define and analyse metrics to guide product operation, business development and risk management platform-wide.
• Align stakeholders and partner teams around a shared product vision and risk philosophy, and steer execution across multiple quarters. This will include coordination of market/credit risk engines and control implementation platform-wide, for example around customer execution controls and liquidations.
• Manage the product life cycle for our internal risk reporting and management platform, from planning to execution on a mix of already-roadmapped and wholly-new products and features that serve the Coinbase Risk team. This will involve collaborating with Engineering, Design and other cross-functional teams to develop product concepts, document requirements and user journeys - ultimately to quarterback the rapid delivery of new capabilities and features to your internal customers.
• Communicate progress on initiatives, KPIs, and risk metrics to cross-functional partners and executive leadership
