Full-Time IT Business Procurement Analyst

Ashburn Consulting is partnering with WMATA to support their digital modernization initiatives. The Business Analyst will be responsible for procurement processes, vendor management, and budget tracking for IT projects.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with internal teams to identify supplier needs.
• Manage project costs.
• Ensure invoice and procurement document accuracy.
• Answer calls and respond to requests/inquiries.
• Liaise with internal and external teams to find prospective suppliers.
• Maintain records of activities.
• Work with Engineering/Infrastructure/Operations/Project Management teams to identify goods/services/equipment suppliers.
• Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.
• Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor inventory to maintain positive flow.
• Create weekly/monthly status reports.
• Understand procurement requirements from the project team.
• Identify inefficiencies and bugs.
• Assist with managing project budgets.
• Assist with developing Earned Value reports.
• Assist with daily cost tracking and controls.
• Assist with developing pro-forma invoices for cost-reimbursable projects.
• Assist with developing monthly financial summary reports.
• Assist with performing invoice reconciliations.
• Interface with accounting departments to ensure valid budgeting/accounting codes.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years in IT Finance or IT Procurement.
• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Business, Finance preferred).
• Knowledge of Microsoft, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Proven procurement specialist experience.
• Experience with business applications and financial applications.
• Project cost management experience.
• Additional procurement certification desired.
• Strong IT knowledge.
