Full-Time Junior Geotechnical Engineer

AECOM seeks a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

• Performs portions of broader projects under supervision.
• Plans, implements, and oversees geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel).
• Develops geotechnical laboratory testing assignments.
• Conducts geotechnical evaluations (material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, settlement).
• Prepares calculation packages.
• Assists in geotechnical report, drawing, and specification development.
• Presents technical evaluation results.
• Reviews geotechnical instrumentation and prepares monitoring reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS + 2 years experience or equivalent.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid US Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis.
• 4+ years relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher, and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Field/construction experience (tailings or dams).
• Familiarity with design reports, drawings, and specifications.
