Full-Time Lead Associate - F&A - Capital Market

We are seeking motivated investment professionals with accounting backgrounds for a forward-looking investment operations team. Excellent investment accounting skills and interest in technology solutions are essential.

You will manage domestic and global investment portfolios (separately managed accounts), focusing on relationships with custodian banks and internal parties.

Responsibilities:

• Interface daily with custodian bank, third-party administrator, portfolio management, and analytics to resolve complex issues.
• Reconcile portfolio cash accounts with prime broker, custodian bank, and third-party administrator.
• Reconcile clearing broker futures, options, and centrally cleared derivative statements monthly.
• Reconcile investment holdings, cash, cash equivalents, forward foreign exchange, and pricing monthly with custodian bank or third-party administrator.
• Research and analyze discrepancies between Western Asset and client/fund prime broker or custodian bank, ensuring resolution.
• Prepare and review performance returns for designated client portfolios.
• Create accounting reports for custom reporting requests.
• Identify funding requirements and overdrafts to ensure sufficient funds for executed transactions.
• Assist team supervisor in establishing operating policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with industry-specific analytical tools (Bloomberg, Tableau, Smartsheet is a plus)
• Knowledge and experience with various security types (Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Municipal bonds, Derivatives, Mortgages, Foreign Exchange)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player with accuracy focus and strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
