Full-Time Lead Cyber Technical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and evolution of an enterprise scale data enrichment platform that ingests, enriches, and produces security findings identified through Capital One’s security testing capabilities
• Build awareness, increase knowledge and drive adoption of modern technologies and approaches, sharing customer/partner and engineering benefits to gain buy-in
• Strike the right balance between lending expertise and providing an inclusive environment where others’ ideas can be heard and championed; leverage expertise to grow skills in the broader Capital One team
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence, using opportunities to reuse and innersource solutions where possible, especially at the enterprise level. 
• Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization in both written and verbal manners.
• Operate as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in an unified manner and gain user confidence in Cyber’s delivery of data
• Lead the way in creating next-generation talent for Tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One’s Tech talent

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification 
• At least 4 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 3 years of experience in data architecture
• At least 3 years of data modeling experience
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using Python, Java, or related language
• 5+ years of experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or related compute engines
• 4+ years experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
• 2+ years experience with agile engineering practices
• 1+ years cybersecurity data and testing concepts like image/container, infrastructure, SAST, DAST, SCA, etc.
