We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. We offer personal and business bank accounts, joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account, and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.
We’re not about selling products – we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo.
About our Growth team: The Growth collective at Monzo helps customers discover the unique value of Monzo and build healthy financial habits from day one. We focus on driving growth opportunities, enabling other internal teams to build experiences our customers want to share. We are champions for our customers, offering delightful experiences. We translate growth hypotheses to bold experimentation, focusing on outcomes.
What you’ll be working on: Although Growth Design is a new specialism at Monzo, you’ll be surrounded by an experienced, passionate, and supportive team. You’ll be responsible for all design contributions in the team, from initial discovery and user journey mapping through final UI design details. You’ll deeply understand the customers you’re designing for, balancing the ideal experience with scoping trade-offs based on technical constraints, experimentation strategy, or business risk. Designers partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data scientists. Our design and product leadership team is deeply connected to the work, ensuring long-term strategy, business goals, and experience quality are aligned.
You should apply if… A designer who confidently balances quality with humility; stays open-minded; is a data-centric, adept communicator; and is comfortable working in ambiguity, at pace. You’re motivated by cross-functional ownership and delivering outcomes.
Bonus points if: You have facilitated design sprints; are comfortable creating scrappy prototypes; have worked with the notion of ‘strong opinions loosely held’; have built products at scale covering multiple geographies; and are passionate about leveraging new technology like AI in their design workflow.
