Longbridge is seeking a Mortgage Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Department. Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Compliance and Legal, this role will ensure compliance with mortgage banking laws, rules, and regulations. This remote role involves working with the Compliance Management System (CMS) to monitor, report, and remediate compliance and risk management issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with mortgage banking laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Manage compliance monitoring programs based on risk assessments.
- Conduct monthly compliance reviews and identify weaknesses.
- Contribute to the compliance training program.
- Investigate compliance breaches and implement preventative measures.
- Assist with audit functions and committee meetings.
- Participate in SOX and BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC programs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal consumer regulations (e.g., TILA, HMDA, RESPA, UDAAP).
- Fair Lending analysis and review experience.
- Knowledge of mortgage banking and consumer compliance laws.
- Experience with managing compliance staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and ability to form effective relationships at senior levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience with regulatory exam management and communicating with regulators.
- Understanding when issues require escalation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a mid-level mortgage compliance role.
- CRCM designation is a plus.
- Reverse mortgage experience is a plus.
