Full-Time National Claims Manager

SIXT Australia is seeking a National Claims Manager. Reporting to the Head of Fleet, this position is based in Wynyard CBD, Sydney, Australia, but remote work across Australia is possible.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, manage, and embed effective debt recovery processes for vehicle damage costs, balancing recovery with customer experience.
2. Drive a high-performing claims team through mentoring, training, and inspiration.
3. Monitor and report on claims performance, meet debt recovery targets, and take corrective action.
4. Ensure compliance with insurance policies, legal regulations, and reporting standards.
5. Handle complex claims and disputes as an escalation point.
6. Champion continuous improvement and best practice initiatives.
7. Collaborate with franchisee owners to drive compliance with standard operating procedures.
8. Oversee payment plan negotiation, approvals, and Loss Damage Waiver refunds.
9. Resolve complex customer claims and legal matters with professionalism, empathy, and a focus on fair outcomes.

Requirements:

• Proven leadership and people management experience in claims, insurance, or similar consumer-facing environments.
• Strong dispute handling, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the MS suite and reporting systems.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong time management.
• Ability to manage competing demands, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and flexible, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Empathy and professionalism when dealing with customers, legal teams, and external parties.
