The role of an Operational Resilience Consultant primarily is to work on the delivery of client facing BC & OR projects and contribute to product and service development or other non-billable internal activities. Delivery work is project based i.e., Projects will have already been sold to clients with a specific number of days, activities, deliverables and agreed timescales for completion. The Consultant will be expected to deliver project activities and deliverables within agreed timescales and number of days, to the satisfaction of the client. The Consultant will be expected to work by themselves and/or as part of a consultancy team, depending on the requirements of the project and manage their workload across several projects.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver Business Continuity (BC) & Operational Resilience (OR) project activities and documents for clients. At all times the Consultant will be expected to provide client advice with a high level of competency and confidence.
- Running Workshops, meetings, reviews, BIA requirements analysis, WAR Exercise, Scenario Exercise and Crisis Exercise preparation work, plan and report writing.
- Preparing deliverable documents for customers including exercise test plans & reports (Scenario, Crisis & WAR), BIA, BIA Summary Reports, Incident Management, Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans, BC Awareness materials, Current State Assessment Reports.

- Analytical & Focussed – Asks meaningful questions to get to the root of the problem, but also listens well and receives feedback from others to fully understand their needs.
- Excellent understanding of industry standards, including ISO22301, BCI Good Practice Guidelines 2018 (i.e. is able to discuss the documents).
Other Qualifications:
- A member of the Business Continuity Institute, holding a MBCI grade or higher
- IT literate (MS Office tools)
- Experience with BC / Risk software tools (desirable)
- Project Management (desirable)
