Job Details
Reporting to the Program Director, Galileo X, the Expansion Program Manager is responsible for launching new camp locations in underserved or geographically isolated areas. As the go-to "Starter PM," you will help establish Galileo’s presence in new regions, acting as the primary manager for these new camp locations.
Your role involves overseeing the operational setup, training local camp directors, and ensuring that all logistical and cultural aspects of Galileo’s camps are implemented smoothly.
- New Territory Development: Travel to these new areas to ensure the successful setup of all operations:
- Pre-Season: Expect to travel 3-5 trips between February - June for partner meetings and initial facility setup.
- Camp Season: Be the primary on-site manager and first point of contact for new camp locations in isolated regions. Expect to be located in these new regions full-time June - August.
- Training and Support: Train local Camp Directors and staff, ensuring they understand Galileo’s culture, operational standards, and programming.
- Regional Expansion Expertise: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, prepare, and execute expansion strategies in new areas.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the logistical and day-to-day operations of new camp locations during the summer season, ensuring all activities are in line with Galileo’s quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a direct supervisor, mentor, and coach for a team of Camp Directors in these new regions, helping them manage their own teams and resolve operational issues.
- Pinch Point Planning: Proactively plan for and identify potential pinch points (e.g., summer travel challenges) to ensure minimal disruptions in new territories. Serve as an escalation point for your team on issues or challenges that they do not feel prepared to resolve on their own; assist in resolution that balances customer care and program needs.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, customer service, supply chain, and people operations to customize operations for new camp territories.
