The Operations Planning Manager will support program and project initiatives across the 20-state footprint in Field Operations while reporting to the Manager Program & Project Management.
This individual will partner and collaborate with field operations managers and project managers on the Network Transformation team to provide valuable analytics, financial support, and project tracking of initiatives that drive volume reduction efforts.
The person filling this role will act as a key point of contact for the VP and Director of Business Operations Support when it comes to financial reporting and performance metrics.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead a regular cadence of financial and project report-out meetings with the Field Operations Managers and the Network Transformation team seeking to identify, track, and summarize key initiatives and status of operational expense reduction efforts.
- Be a main contributor to, and participant in, regularly scheduled executive presentations.
- Assist in business case development, validation, and implementation.
- Lead several initiative teams, providing direction to participants and partners based on findings and changes in the business.
- Perform financial and operational trend analyses that will be widely distributed to SLT leadership.
- Partner with middle management to identify opportunity areas for processes and procedures related to reporting and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze operational drivers of key performance indicators.
- Support the VP and Director of Business Operations Support with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as needed.
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE
- Must be comfortable making multi-million dollar decisions on behalf of the company and be confident in explaining the data-driven rationale behind those decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent working experience is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a financial or operational analyst role – preferably experience in Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A).
- Prior experience creating and participating in executive-level presentations.
- Ability to perform deep-dive operational and financial analyses using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
- Prior exposure to the telecommunications business with an in-depth understanding of telecom fundamentals and industry basics is a plus.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to perform in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
