Payment Operations Specialist - Contract to Hire
Fully Remote
Monday - Friday: - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 30 minute lunch
Position Description
This role requires a basic understanding of the ACH networks and foundational electronic payments and/or financial industry experience.
The Payments Operations Specialist I should develop a general knowledge of the Nacha Operating Rules and Guidelines, and applicable Federal Regulations to adhere to all nationally recognized electronic and faster payments standards.
This role will provide support in daily processing of wholesale, business banking, and consumer looking to utilize these payment systems.
Tasks include answering calls through phone system, email and research requests, and daily reporting and processing tasks.
Additionally, this role should contribute to the development and improvement of all processes, as well as to the objectives of the team and business.
The specialist will frequently communicate with internal and external customers and prioritize the delivery of an excellent experience, using strong verbal and written communication skills and a basic level of technical skills.
ACH Responsibilities
- Processing ACH Files
- Handling suspended files
- Handles balancing of GL's/accounts related to ACH settlement
- Additional attention impacted customer files
- Inbound / outbound ACH research and error resolution situations
Organizational Relationship
This assignment reports to the Supervisor – Payment Operations
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year of operations or financial industry experience
Banking or Financial experience required
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Maintains a high level of accuracy
