ACMG is seeking an organized and resourceful Practice Guideline Panel Manager to support and monitor clinical practice guideline projects.
The individual will be responsible for managing practice guideline panels and the production of deliverables for each guideline project.
Each project involves multiple stakeholders. The Practice Guideline Panel Manager is crucial in coordinating and managing processes to produce a usable guideline for the intended end-user.
65% Practice Guideline Panel Management
- Assists with identifying stakeholders for project-specific guideline panels.
- Assists with establishing guideline panels, including obtaining and maintaining conflict of interest disclosures, onboarding panel members before kick-off, and drafting project plans and timelines.
- Maintains accurate records of the practice guideline development and update process for each guideline panel.
- Tracks panel progress and provides support to ensure timely deliverables.
- Creates and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders, including patient representatives, to foster effective patient engagement.
- Monitors methodology contractors (e.g., medical librarians) to ensure standardized and effective work based on departmental expectations.
- Contributes to meeting materials.
- Coordinates the writing process, assigning sections, providing support, and compiling drafts into a guideline document.
- Provides bibliographic management using EndNote.
- Organizes and manages meeting logistics, including identifying dates and sending invitations.
- Contributes to and deploys post-meeting and post-project completion panel experience and satisfaction surveys.
- Analyzes and shares survey findings with the department director for continuous improvement.
- Monitors project expenses and provides quarterly reports to the department director.
15% Programmatic or Department Level Practice Guidelines Support
- Assists in developing topic nominations to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) for systematic reviews to inform ACMG Practice Guidelines.
- Shares project experiences and insights about methodological processes employed by various contractors to contribute to department-level best practice identification and documentation.
- Assists the department director in reviewing and maintaining practice guideline development standard operating procedures.
20% Project Management Support
- Provides project management support to other committee or workgroup-related document development processes.
- Creates project plans and timelines for committee/workgroup chairs to review and provide input (if needed).
- Maintains accurate project records (if needed).
- Tracks workgroup progress and provides support to ensure timely deliverables (if needed).
- Serves as central point of contact for uniform messaging about project progress across all levels.
- Assists with and coordinates the development of project proposals and deliverables in preparation for Board of Directors review.
- Contributes to and deploys post-meeting and post-project completion workgroup experience and satisfaction surveys (if needed).
- Contributes to the drafting of relevant meeting materials to support workgroup meetings (if needed).
- Organizes and manages logistics for workgroup meetings (if needed).
- Provides bibliographic management support using EndNote (if needed).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public health or health-related field with 2+ years of experience independently managing projects.
- Master's degree in public health or health-related field preferred.
- Experience supporting clinical practice guideline development or managing technical expert panels is a plus.
- Experience coordinating across committees and workgroups to achieve project goals.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records, and work within a digital environment.
- Ability to work within budget and predetermined timelines, anticipating and mitigating risks.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships for clear communication across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office 2010, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Projects, Visio, etc.).
- Experience using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Asana).
- Experience managing EndNote.
- Familiarity with systematic literature searches and evidence synthesis is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to travel for meetings (up to 10%).
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 (range, not guaranteed)
