Full-Time Principal Machine Learning Engineer

SmithRx is a rapidly growing Health-Tech company seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead ML innovation.

Job Summary: SmithRx is transforming pharmacy benefit management (PBM). As we expand, we seek an experienced Principal Machine Learning engineer with expertise in data engineering and AI/ML.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop strategies across the AI/ML project lifecycle (problem definition, data preparation, model deployment, performance monitoring).
2. Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for anomaly detection and predictive insights.
3. Build and maintain scalable, efficient ML pipelines.
4. Ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
6. Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and leadership to define use cases and integrate AI models.

Qualifications:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 12+ years of experience.
• Strong expertise in data architecture, database design, and optimization (OLTP, OLAP, NoSQL, cloud-based data warehouses).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, Cortext, OpenAI, and Terraform.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or PyTorch).
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models, preferably in healthcare.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and manage complex projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
