OVERVIEWTen Mile Square seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead a remote-first team of full-stack developers. This role involves hands-on leadership, expertise in software development methods, technologies, and tooling.
Initial assignment: Greenfield development of a loan origination system for an established financial institution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of senior software engineers, software engineers, SDETs, and DevOps.
- Collaborate with client executives and product team to define requirements (requirements, epics, stories, tasks).
- Groom backlog, plan workstreams, sprints, and task assignments.
- Architect, design, and build a loan origination system using:
- Node.js
- Apollo GraphQL
- Angular
- Camunda
- AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, MSK, Aurora)
- Contribute to Agile team and promote Agile practices
- Work with tech leads and product team to define functional requirements
- Mentor junior developers
- Collaborate on Ten Mile team development and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years tech lead experience
- 5+ years senior software engineer experience
- 10+ years software development experience
- 3+ years TypeScript and Node experience
- 2+ years GraphQL experience
- AWS deployment expertise
- SQL expertise
- Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular, Ionic, React, Vue)
- Full application stack development experience
- Full software lifecycle participation
- Linux command line proficiency
- Experience in greenfield system development
