Design at Pennylane: Our Design team is central to delivering a seamless, accessible, and enjoyable experience for users. Our 20+ designers work in cross-functional squads with Engineering and Product. Our culture is built on autonomy, trust, and transparency. Designers actively contribute from problem definition to research and testing. We are seeking a Product Designer with strong B2B experience to enhance and maintain excellent user experiences for accountants and businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Understand user problems, empathize with users through research and data analysis, and create actionable insights.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand technical constraints, align on project goals, and iterate on design solutions.
- Communicate effectively and share knowledge within the team and beyond.
- Possess strong visual design skills and experience with complex systems (multiple modules, advanced features, intricate data structures).
- Document design decisions and work with engineers and product managers to drive projects, challenge limitations, adjust schedules, find alternatives, and advocate for solutions.
- Generate new opportunities and ideas to improve processes, products, and culture.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
- Fluency in both French and English; user interviews in French are crucial.
What you can expect:
- Within one month: Learn about the company, teams, and vision; familiarize yourself with the product, accounting industry, Product/Design organization, and team members.
- Within three months: Lead discovery and user research sessions; ensure continuous delivery on your scope with high-quality results; contribute to team efforts.
- Within six months: Mentor junior designers, participate in recruitment, stay updated on UX/UI best practices.
