Coding Educator will be responsible for provider satisfaction related to CODER+ services provided by Privia Health.
The Educator will partner with providers and staff to ensure smooth delivery of CODER+ surgical services and maintain provider satisfaction.
Collaborate with Providers, CODER+ Program Manager and Clinic Managers to resolve CODER+ issues.
Ideal candidate will have expertise in surgical specialty medical coding, provider education, billing, and compliance with government and commercial payers.
Duties:
- Conduct provider/clinical staff documentation reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
- Create and/or deliver educational material (virtual or in-person)
- Apply coding standards to medical record documentation for accurate coding
- Perform quality reviews of records (electronic and handwritten)
- Review coder work to validate standards
- Research and answer coding questions for providers and staff
- Educate coders and staff on coding guidelines
- Assist in development and maintenance of processes
- Collaborate with internal Privia+ and Privia teams
- Collaborate with vendor partners
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory bodies
- Assist in Privia+ day-to-day coding/educational needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ years of provider medical coding experience
- OB-GYN coding experience preferred
- AAPC CPC and/or CPMA certification highly preferred
- Experience in physician practice setting preferred
- Ability to work with physicians, staff, health plans, vendors, Privia+ and Privia teams
- Knowledge of official coding conventions (AMA, CMS)
- Compliance with HIPAA rules
- Ability to have difficult conversations with providers and managers
- Passion for efficiency

- Travel as needed
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 base salary. Eligible for 10% annual bonus, plus benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, pet insurance, 401K, PTO, wellness). Salary based on experience, education, and location.
Remote Work Requirements (if applicable): Minimum download speed 5 Mbps, upload speed 3 Mbps. Internet provider assistance if necessary. Expense reimbursement for employees working from home.
